Andrews Bald

Balds are often popular hiking destinations because the lack of trees typically yields fantastic views. Andrews Bald in Smoky Mountains National Park is no different. Starting in the Clingmans Dome parking lot, you will see signs for the trail as you make your way up the paved path. You will follow the Forney Ridge trail 1.8 miles one way in order to reach the bald itself.

This is a fantastic place to have a picnic and look at the beautiful surrounding scenery, so plan to take your time. With an elevation gain of about 900’, you will still get a great workout in as well.
