Clingmans Dome

A short, paved trail in the heart of the park, Clingmans Dome may not seem like a likely candidate as one of the top five hikes in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Make no mistake, this half-mile hike to the top of the parks highest point is not to be underestimated. The incline is steep, but the views are more than worth it!

The observation tower, located at 6,643 feet, will allow you to see for many miles on a clear day. This is one popular spot that you will not want to miss.
