Most of these locations and experiences have been visited first-hand by your founders, Peter Stringer and Scott Tribble, or one of our contributors listed below. Stay tuned as we catalogue more of the best places to visit around the United States.
Our Team
Peter is a co-founder of Amazing America. He's a travel junkie and photography enthusiast based in North Carolina. He's been to 47 states and 30 National Parks.
Scott Tribble is a co-founder of Amazing America. He's a photographer and travel enthusiast based in Columbus, Ohio. He's visited 48 states to date (look out, Alaska & Delaware).
Michelle is a journalist, storyteller, and avid traveler, based in New York City.
Kristy is a freelance writer and health coach based out of the Portland, Oregon area. She earned a BA in English from the University of Idaho in 2014. Kristy and her cat Faye have taken several road trips across the western United States to explore and experience the beauty of nature and learn the history of rural America.
Colleen Smitek is a writer based in Cleveland and the editor of Lake Erie Living. Her favorite place to be is driving west into the sunset.
Danielle is an avid outdoor adventurer and freelance writer based in Colorado. When she’s not outside, she writing and taking photos for her adventure blog, Atlas Calling.
Mary is a Michigan native currently residing in the Portland, Oregon area. After living in Nashville, Tennessee for a couple of years, she packed up her car and drove out to the west coast to fulfill her lifelong dream of road tripping across America. Now she spends her days hiking in the mountains and exploring as many National Parks as possible.
Taryn is an Arizona-based freelance writer who travels extensively. She has a passion for exploring lesser-known destinations, catching mountain sunrises and beach sunsets, and discovering new independent craft beers.
Hope Harris is a freelance writer based in Houston, Texas. Hope discovered the freelancing world during the summer of 2020 and immediately started writing blog posts and content for websites. Hope is currently a student at the University of Houston where she will be majoring in Marketing and minoring in Journalism. Hope is very passionate about traveling and never turns down the opportunity to be outdoors and explore new places. Her goal is to travel to all 50 states in the U.S and one day travel to several countries all over the world. Hope is looking forward to many new experiences in traveling and continuing her journey as a freelance writer.
Gavin Lamb is a researcher and writer based in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. He writes on a range of topics on nature and the outdoors, including conservation and sustainable travel.
Megan Zink is a content and demand gen marketer, photographer, journalist, educator and speaker. She is also the founder and Chief Content Officer of travel media platform Color & Curiosity. She loves the psychology of marketing and specializes in editorial work and storytelling, marketing strategy, content architecture and creative direction. Matt is a Ph.D. student in environmental engineering at Montana State University where his research focuses on sustainable wastewater treatment and algal cultivation. He has lived in Bozeman for the past six years where he has worked with the Center for Biofilm Engineering. Matt spends most of his free time in the summer hiking and backpacking, and in the winter snowboarding. He is an astrophotographer by hobby as it combines his love for the outdoors, star gazing, and photography. In his own words, “Bringing light to the darkness” allows him to explore the other side of the beautiful places we love. Many of the images capture the motion of our planet in the stars and showcase the grandeur of the universe. The images are meant to provide a glimpse into the mystery of the night and impart a sense of wonder as we contemplate the beauty of our planet and the vastness of time and space.
