Horsetail Falls
Horsetail Falls gets its name from the appearance of the water stream that plunges into the pool below. It looks like a horsetail.
The falls are easily accessible off the side of the Historic Columbia River highway, and there’s a parking lot on the other side of the street. It’s great quick photo location; unlike many other waterfalls along the Columbia River Gorge, you don’t need to hike to get the best view.
Horsetail Falls is just 2.5 miles down the road from the popular Multnomah Falls, but features smaller crowds and zero amenities. This is an attraction you can visit in under 10 minutes.
