Utah Monolith

A department of Public Safety crew discovered this monolith in the Utah desert on November 18. Photo: Utah Department of Public Safety

The location of the strange Monolith in the Utah desert has been uncovered. With a little help from Google Maps and some internet sleuthing, the large metallic structure’s location has been revealed.

Authorities have warned that the road required to arrive here is not well maintained, and that visitors are at their own risk of becoming stranded without proper vehicles (4x4s, etc).

The location is near the Lockhart Basin, tucked southwest of Moab and just east of the Colorado River.
